The Baptist, witnessing using the FAITH method
For I have come down from Heaven, not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me (Joh 6:38, MKJV).
The FAITH acronym is also used by some to share the plan of salvation, although to us it seems more of a way to remind and encourage the faithful than to witness to the lost. Many people do like and use it though, so we've included it here.

F stands for Forgiveness - We need forgiveness or we cannot be saved.

A stands for Available - This forgiveness is available to all, but it isn't automatic.

I stands for Impossible - It's impossible for God to allow sin into Heaven because He is Holy and just. All of us, every one, are sinners. We do not deserve and cannot earn our way in, no matter how good a person we are.

T stands for Turn - Turn means repent. Turn from sin and flesh to Christ Jesus alone.

H is for Heaven - Heaven is truly eternal life. How do we get eternal life in Heaven? By having F.A.I.T.H. in our Lord Jesus Christ.

For any plan of salvation to be effective you need to be in the Bible, God's Word, daily. You can't teach something you don't know. If someone asks you a question you don't know the answer to, that's okay. Find out the answer and get back to them. The important thing is to tell them the difference Christ has made in your life. Lead them through the sinner's prayer below, an example of which is this from (keeping in mind that the prayer itself isn't what saves you):

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and that I do not deserve eternal life. But, I believe you died and rose from the grave to purchase a place in Heaven for me. Jesus come into my life, take control of my life, forgive my sins and save me. I am now placing my trust in you alone for my salvation and I accept your free gift of eternal life."

Your Pastor or another believer who has been in the faith for a reasonable amount of time can counsel you, and please remember that new believers need to be discipled. Get them into a good, Christ-centered church, and help them through the trials that always come to new believers. Satan will almost certainly begin to attack them, and they can easily be led into "diverse and strange doctrines." God bless you.
